l’atelier by apcの新しい試みとして、次世代のヴァイオリン製作者のラインナップをご紹介するプロジェクト、
"Discover « the next » generation of violin makers! "を始動することとなりました。
第一回目はイタリア、トリノよりChiara Scardinale氏を迎え、新作楽器の展示・販売イベントを開催いたしました！
まだ日本では知られていない次世代の才能を発掘し、これからの弦楽器界の発展に貢献できればと思います。

貴重な機会となりました。

Chiara Scardinale (キアラ スカルディナーレ)
1996年にイタリアのトリノで生まれ、美術学校を卒業した後、ミラノのCivic School of Violin Makingに入学しました。
在学中、2年目の初めに、バロック楽器に特に興味を持ち、その歴史と音響を学び始めました。
さまざまなコースに参加し、ミラノのEnrico Allortoによる「バロック楽器のためのヘッドの彫刻」および「ヴァイオリン製作のための彫刻」コース、
そしてビエッラでのCarlos Archersによる「弓奏楽器の修復」コースなど、技術を磨きました。
Civic School of Violin Makingの4年目と最後の年に、リュート製作者のGiacomo Roccaのもとで働き始め、
約3年間、トリノとミラノの間で研鑽を積みながら勉学にも励みました。
週末には、ミラノの「Accordi」楽器店で働くことで多くの楽器セットアップの実践の経験を積み、3年間勤務しました。
2021年には、バロックヴァイオリン製作者Pierre Bohrのもとで数ヶ月間働き、その後はGibertoniとNalinと協力してバロックヴァイオリンの製作に携わりました。8か月間彼らと働き、週のほとんどをGiacomo Roccaと「Accordi」に費やしました。
2022年11月には、カリフォルニアで行われたVSA in Los Angeles, Californiaという最初の弦楽器製作コンペティションに参加し、
音の響きに関して3人の審査員全員から好意的なフィードバックを受けました。2023年2月には、スイスのローザンヌでOlivier Legrandから新しいセットアップ方法を学ぶ大きな機会を得て、これが私自身の工房を開設するモチベーションとなりました。
2023年5月に工房を設立、今年9月にオープンしました。
I was born in Turin, Italy, in 1996.
After graduating from Art School, I was admitted to the Civic School of Violin Making in Milan.
At the beginning of the second year of school I began to have a particular interest in baroque instruments, studying their history and acoustics.
I enriched my academic career by attending various courses, including the "Sculpture of heads for baroque instruments" and "Carving in violin making" courses by Enrico Allorto in Milan, and the "Restoration of bowed instruments" course held by Carlos Archers in Biella.
During the fourth and final year at the Civic School of Violin Making I started working for luthier Giacomo Rocca, who took me as his assistant for about three years alternating work and study between Turin and Milan.
On the weekends of that same period I had the opportunity to practice a lot of instrument set-ups by working in the "Accordi" musical instrument shop in Milan, a work experience that also lasted three years.
In 2021 I worked for a couple of months for the baroque violin maker Pierre Bohr in Milan, a working period interrupted to collaborate with Gibertoni and Nalin on the construction of a baroque violin.
I worked for them for the next eight months, sharing the entire week with Giacomo Rocca and "Accordi".
In November 2022 I entered my first competition: the VSA in Los Angeles, California, receiving good feedback from all three judges regarding acoustics. In February 2023 I had the great opportunity to learn new set-up methods from Olivier Legrand in Lausanne, Switzerland, an experience that gave me motivation to open my own laboratory.
In May 2023 I acquired a laboratory which I inaugurated in September of this year.
